Principal Laboratory Analyst Job, Current Laboratory Technologist Jobs In Kenya,

V/NO 2/2020,

Salary Scale: Ksh. 55,150-82,330 p.m (CSG 8),

House Allowance: Ksh. 35,000 p.m,

Commuter Allowance: Ksh. 8,000 p.m,

Extraneous Allowance: Ksh. 25,000 p.m,

Leave Entitlement: 30 days per financial year,

Medical Benefits: As existing in the Civil Service,

Terms of Service: Pensionable.

Qualifications

  • be serving at the grade of Senior Laboratory Analyst, CSG 9 or in a comparable and relevant position in the wider public service or private sector;
  • have a Bachelors Degree in any of the following fields:- Laboratory Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Technology, Biotechnology, Applied Biology, Biochemistry, Analytical/Applied chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science and Technology in any of the following fields:- (Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biology) from a university recognized in Kenya; and
  • have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Responsibilities

Specific duties and responsibilities at this level include:-

  • coordinating provision of laboratory services in a number of units/sections;
  • preparing work plans and programs for laboratory service activities;
  • submitting samples to reference and research institutes for analysis;
  • preparing laboratory manuals and quality specifications;
  • supervising safe laboratory waste disposal;
  • analytical methods validation;
  • making laboratory material requisitions and undertaking technical evaluation for laboratory supplies/equipment; and
  • formulating technical laboratory standards.
