Duration: 3-months Internship Program

Physical Location: Inside Wilson Airport, Nairobi

Job description

Developing of visual creative communication, concepts, using computer software or by hand, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining high quality brand and product communication in line with the existing marketing strategy and should be to effortlessly translate briefs either written or spoken into layouts and designs

Responsibilities

  • Contributing unique creative ideas for all communication activities to effectively engage our different target
  • Developing creative graphic designs for print and digital
  • Conceptualizing visuals based on requirements provided.
  • Proposing and updating designs for corporate promotional
  • Designing    and    updating    templates    such  as brochures, event materials, info sheets, presentations and special report.
  • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand.
  • Researching on the latest design trends to ensure top creativity in executing the design
  • Demonstrating Illustrative    skills    with    rough sketches and working on layouts ready for
  • Designing layouts, including selection of colors, images, and
  • Producing drafts for review and making revisions based on feedback
  • Providing overall graphic design support.
  • Assisting with monitoring branding guidelines and ensure proper use across all
  • Support all marketing initiatives to ensure that images and messages appropriately contribute to brand
  • Ensures final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand.
  • A bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related
  • Certification in graphic design
  • Technical training in computerized design, studio art, commercial graphics production, printing techniques and website design is an added
  • Original portfolio—a collection of completed designs that demonstrates an artist’s/ designer’s styles and

Qualifications

  • 1 years continues experience in a busy commercial marketing or creative arts department with Excellent demonstrated knowledge and hands on exposure in graphics
  • Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop)
  • Prior internship exposure in creative designs in an aviation or medical industry is an added advantage.
  • Exposure in motion graphics is an added
  • Proficiency in core graphic design and photo editing (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, In Design and Photoshop)
  • Ability to convert complex and abstract ideas into simple visual
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively
  • Ability to communicate clearly both written and verbally
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent computer skills
  • Ability to manage time
  • Ability to apply research skills

Company, policies, Systems, procedures and methods

  • Knowledge of AMREF Flying Doctors’ policies in relations to this function and its administration as they impact on business operations
  • 24-hour response required whenever necessary within a 24-hour work environment
  • Work is performed in an office environment with client’s visits
